Snow Days!

Who doesn't love snow days! I'm finally a senior this year, and snow days are pretty much the best part about the winter season. Now that I'm a senior, I don't have to make up any of the missed school days, because I'm graduating in May, sooner than everyone else. So far we've only 2 or 3 cancellations of school, and a few delays, but hey it's only the beginning of winter! I just wanted to express my love for 2 hr delays and cancellations.

Black Friday

Black Friday is friggin crazy! I didn't go out this Black Friday, like every other year, but this year I actually had an excuse. I got my tonsils out the Monday before Thanksgiving, and I was too tired to even get out of bed. While I laid in bed, I later heard stories on the news and on my homepage of my internet explorer on my laptop of the pandamonium that took place on Black Friday.

So supposedly some people got killed on Black Friday?! What?! Okay people, time to calm down a bit. I know the holidays can be stressfull, believe me, but I'm thinkin that's a little too far. Correct me if I'm wrong, but someone got trampled at WalMart? I think that was the story, I don't know. Jeez thats insane. I can't believe people would be so determined to get a little toy for their damn kids they wouldn't even care if they stepped on the face of someone else just to get to it first. Another story I heard was someone got shot at Toys R Us! Haaa that makes me laugh. It is NOT funny for someone dying, that's obviously a terrible terrible tragedy, and my heart goes out to their family. It makes me laugh because of the location. People getting shot at Toys R Us? What is society coming to? I don't even know what to say.

Holiday Monnayy

The holidays are a very stressful time for me. I seem to have more 'worry lines' and stress acne on my face than at any other time of the year. I'm always worried about having enough money for gifts for my family, friends, and especially this year, my significant other. No, I'm not married duh, but I do have a new person in my life :-)

In my opinion, money is a big factor when measuring someone's holiday spirit, on the outside. Some families spend hundreds of dollars buying lights for their house, bushes, and everything else that sticks out on the ground. Also, there are now blow-up snowmen, Santas, and any other holiday figure. I'm into the lights around the house and maybe a little reindeer in the front yard, but I think 16 blow-up figurines, 2 tons of lights everywhere, and a live nativity scene, is a little much. Anyway, back to my point. When driving by someone's house, I think many people measure the family's holiday spirit by how many lights and decorations they have in their home. Sometimes I bet people think, "Oh they are just a typical Scrooge, no holiday spirit whatsoever," when they come up to a house with no lights or decorations at all. In their defense, an obvious reason they might not have lights up is because they may not have enough money to buy decorations. Another obvious reason, they may have better things to do. They may be busy with work and trying to keep their family in line, simply not wanting to take the time to decorate. And one last reason, they might not celebrate Christmas! Hello!

All these reasons for not decorating is fine, absolutely excusable! But on the other side, people may not want to decorate because they are lazy. Maybe they don't like Christmas, maybe they are a Scrooge. Or maybe they just think other people look absolutely ridiculous with all the lights and decorations, and don't want to partake in such activities.

Whatever the reason may be, obviously not everyone decks out their home for the holidays. Whatever, it's fine with me! Do what you want.

Twilight! Part II

So I did see the movie. And let me tell you... it was pretty amazing! For the most part, I loved the movie and every thing about it. I loved the casting and all of the characters, they are for them most part exactly how I pictured them in the book, and so much more.

I wasn't expecting Carlisle to be as handsome as he was. I expected him to be good looking, but older than he was. I knew he was going to be young, but I wasn't expecting the young.

The only part I didn't really like was when they edited a lot out of the book from the movie. I know you can't fit every single detail in a book into a movie, but I think they could've made it a little longer, maybe adding in a few more details here and there. I felt like the whole movie was going by so fast. After like 20 minutes I was thinking to myself, "Wow, we're to this part already?". It was probably because I was completely entranced in the whole movie, sitting with my hands under my butt, refusing to hold hands with my boyfriend in fear it might take away from the wonderment known as Edward Cullen.

I'm hoping to see this movie again, because this time I will hopefully be able to concentrate more on the story line, rather than just aimlessly gazing at Robert Pattinson on the big screen. In my opinion, Pattinson was the perfect choice to play Edward Cullen. He has the same facial features I pictured, with the sculpted jawline and cheekbones, and the dark hair. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with that opinion, and I think he's absolutely perfect for the part. I think Kristen Stewart was a good choice for Bella, but she wasn't exactly who I pictured in my head while I was reading the Twilight series. I pictured Bella to be more normal, not as rail-thin Stewart is. I also pictured someone with a girly-er voice, one not as low as Kristen.
Anyone agree?

Twilight!

Yes I am a Twilight freak. And YES! Twilight comes out in the theatres tomorrow! I am so excited, no one has any idea. I've read most of the books; I'm done with the first three, and am almost done with the fourth: Breaking dawn. I think the books are the most amazing things ever, and they are by far my favorite series I have read. The way Stephanie Meyer writes, it makes me become entranced in the book.

The thing I am concerned with though, will the movie live up to the reputation of the books? I'm not sure. I don't think they will be able to fit every single detail from the book into a 2 hour movie, but then no movie made from a book does. I'm scared crucial details will be left out, and the movie will be random and scattered. I'm sure the movie will still be amazing, but I'm hoping I don't get my hopes up and then watch them come crashing down in my face while watching the movie.

Judge This!

Judgemental people irritate me. I just wrote a post not too long ago about how I was judgemental about people, and a certain situation that turned out to be better than I had expected. Being judgemental just isn't worth it.

I say judging people by how they acted when you first meet them, or even if you just see them in the hallway at school or at work, is wrong. And although I say it's wrong, I'm pretty sure I do it myself every single day. I'm sure 90% of the people here at school are nice, but I look at them as a person depending on what they doing, occasionally how they look, and how they act around their friends. I probably sound like a psycho bitch, but almost every person here does it without even thinking.

Going back to why being judgemental isn't worth it... I don't think its worth your time judging someone and making up some false things about them in your mind because they probably are no where near to how you are picturing them. You don't know what they are going through in their personal life, and what they are truly are.

American Idol, America's Next Top Model, and shows with judges are a completely different story. In this case, it's their job to judge people. They obviously judge people on a certain skill or aspect, not usually on their personality and how they act.
