Welcome to Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sounds like a pretty normal name to me. Many people get Iowa and Idaho confused. I mean really? Come on. Idaho is in the Northwestern part of the US, and Iowa is smack dab in the middle. Idaho = Potatoes. Iowa = Corn. ITS NOT THAT HARD.

CR is a pretty great place to live. We haven't really be affected by the economy, and our gas prices aren't that outrageous. Our crime rate is fairly low compared to other cities, and our car crash rate is one of the lowest. Hell yeah, safest place to drive! That's especially good for me, because I've been in 2 car accidents, but whatever. In CR, everyone is really nice here (for the most part) and it is an overall really friendly environment. But there are a few bad things about Cedar Rapids.

1. There. Is. Almost. Nothing. To. Do. Compared to like Chicago or New York, there's not much to do here. Yeah, there's a couple movie theatres and a mall and good restaurants, but it seems like we're missing something. I'm not sure what it is, but it seems like Cedar Rapids could use a make over when it comes to entertainment. I know I'm not old enough but I've heard there are no bars or clubs in downtown Cedar Rapids. Yeah we just experienced the Flood of 08 this past summer but HEY! That's the perfect oppourtunity to revamp CR and give it some life! There's no form of entertainment downtown except for the 5 seasons center (concerts and shit) and the Y (if that's still even there). I don't think I've ever gone downtown to do something fun, except go to a play with my family, or play state volleyball this fall. Let's do something about it!!!!

2. There aren't that many cute guys. You'd be surprised how many nasty ass dirty boys go to my school. Yeah there are some cute guys, but I'd say there is a below average amount. Probably because this city isn't that big, annndd cause I don't know every single person in CR. That's okay though.

Overall, CR is a great place to live. I'm not sure if I wanna move away from here after college, cause of all of the great oppourtunities I would have from living here. I know my way around, the cost of living is great, and we have great schools. It'll be a hard decision...
